Unbroken: Louis Zamperini, whose life story serves as inspiration for Angelina Jolie’s upcoming Unbroken, has died at the age of 97. Zamperini competed in the 1936 Olympics, and later served in World War II, during which he was shot down over the Pacific Ocean, survived 47 days in a life raft, and then endured a harsh imprisonment by the Japanese military for two years. Jack O’Connell will play him in Jolie’s movie, which will open in theaters on December 25. [New York Times]



Frozen: Disney’s Frozen has become a worldwide phenomenom, not only at the box office but also in film tourism, and Norway is the happy beneficiary. The country has been busy promoting itself as the real-life inspiration for the movie’s fictional Arendelle, and visitors are reportedly flocking there as a result, joining the likes of New Zealand (The Lord of the Rings trilogy) and Northern Ireland (TV’s Game of Thrones) as new destinations for film-obsessed tourists. Jimi: All Is by My Side Trailer: Musician-turned-actor André Benjamin (aka André 3000) takes on the challenge of playing the legendary Jimi Hendrix in Jimi: All Is by My Side, which opens in theaters on September 26. Written and directed by John Ridley, who won an Oscar for his 12 Years a Slave screenplay, the movie focus on the early days of Hendrix’s career, as captured in the first trailer.
